Yesterday I sold some batteries to another TPer on this forum...off I go to the post office and the girl behind the counter asks..."what is in the package?"...so I duly tell her , some batteries for a camera...so she asked me open package..."sorry, we can't take those."....."but if they are with some equipment we can take them then!" WTF:mad: total madness another PC law to f*** up to our intelligence

Some people say add a 1p transistor as this counts as "electronic equipment" that the battery is sent with

I thought the rule was only lithium batteries had restrictions and that they were OK if only INSIDE the electronic item?
 
Batteries have to be inside an electrical item, they cannot be sent individually. Been like this a while now. Some couriers arent as strict though. I think Hermes Are more relaxed about it.

Looks like I have......


...but I went back today with the batteries and an old grip and they accepted it no problem...and the batteries were not even in the grip:D
 
Next time you're asked, it's "optical/camera accessories"
 
I was under the impression that so long as the batteries were correctly packaged the could still be accepted, so had the protective plastic cover in place and also in individual plastic bags so there is no chance of two creating a short circuit there things were good to go postage wise, also no point lying to the courier/post office as if the package is x rayed then you'll still loose them as they will be removed from the system and disposed off.
