Just recieved a set of yongnuo flash transmitter and 3 recievers and the English/chinese instructions are a bit hard to understand. So before i blow everything up is there a certain way i should set these up/turn on i;e one before the other in a certain order:shrug:

any advice tips on start up and even how to use would be a great help

order doesnt matter, i find if I put my transmitter on the camera when the camera is turned on then the transmitter doesnt work, so i always turn the camera off first. apart from that plug and play.

(as long as you dont have an oldschool flash with a high voltage trigger or reversed polarity)

can i ask where you got the RF-02's from and what you paid... i'm just looking round for a remote flash trigger myself (can't warrant buying the pocket wizards, not yet anyway)...

Thanks b3r i have a 580ex and a 430ex

Horizon i bought them of Flash In The Pan from here

Now ive only had these for about 30 minutes and on first impressions the quality looks rather good to me. The instructions seem a bit badly worded (but so does most of my posts:lol:) and im a little unsure how to use them and if/how/why you can change the channels?.

If anyone can recommend a good guide or post some useful info that would be a great help

assuming its the 602's there are some dip switches, they have a protective cover (orange/ translucent) that you remove, (its there for the manufacturing process) ,as long as transmitter and receiver are the same it will fire. theres not much else to them.

I recommend storing the transmitter battery out of the unit as it is prone to getting pressed, and sometimes they dont work as well when the battery has been in for ages. instead of removing the battery I put a little tap of plastic (and someone else i know uses card) to stop the battery making contact when I'm not using them for long periods.

Great Help

Yes the receivers are the yongnuo rf-602rx and the transmiter is the Yongnuo rf-602tx

I was wondering how id go about changing the switches and didnt realise the orange cover could be removed. I have 3 recievers and 1 transmiter although one of the recievers (under the orange removable sticker) has got the usual 4 switches and "on" but 1 also has a "KE" in the top right hand corner :thinking:..

So these are just plug and play i assume and no ettl  the reason i ask is if i set my camera in manual 250/sec f4 and flash to manual i can adjust the output from full down to 1/64 and i can see the difference in light it produces but i can also set my flash on ettl and it also works. So am i doing something wrong (probably) or should they work this way or am i missing the point altogether:cuckoo:
