Have been playing around with Oloneo and being impressed by their videos, I decided to try it on a single image to see what it could do. I dont like overly HDR'ed images as they just look like paintings (or worse) so was wondering what people think of this.

The test image is just one I picked randomly off my CF card as it had some very light and very dark areas.

I was going for a subtle HDR to bring out some detail in the tree.

Anyone got a comment - good or bad...

Hard to see much on the small image and clicking through needs a yahoo account. can you put it somewhere public?

Have linked to the largest images that are on Flickr - will resize them again when I get the chance.

From the image you have produced, it certainly does not look like it has had the usual hdr treatment, yet you have definitely got a lot more colour in the resulting image. Therefore I would say it looks like a good program, particulary if it is still free.

A big improvement in my opinion. The first one seems a bit flat but the second has more contrast and looks sharper and it's not over done. Good job...

definitely a difference.Works well. Be interesting to see it developes a nice landscape..

Is this a free piece of software?.

It is in beta at the moment until the end of this month. The beta is free. Well worth checking out

Beta - Testing version i guess is a good explanation...

I've tried it on a few images now and it is very good at bring out detail in shadows and improving highlights.

And unless you overdo the sliders the changes are very good but very subtle - in most cases you wouldn't know it was Pseudo-HDR.

But it has a few drawbacks at the moment - especially no way to set the output etc - you have to keep telling it to save to TIFF etc.

And you can only load one pic at a time.

But having said that the results are very good.
