Beauty dishes

Can you attach beauty dishes to speedlight flashes or are they just for studio lights?

There are a number of speedlight beauty dishes on the market.
I don't have a recommendation for which is best though

I have only just looked at the Lencarta one but that link is very interesting. I doubt i would have a go though as DIY is not my number 1 skill.
