I need to get a beauty dish for next weekend, been wanting one for a while.

I use a mix of Lencarta and Bessel equipment, and am happy with the quality and price.
The Bessel dish (48cm), includes a sock and honeycomb grid, but is silver. I'm a bit worried about the harshness of the silver, not that I have any experience with the silver or white!
The Lencarta (40cm), comes with a sock. Unless I've just missed it, I can't see a grid on their site.
I like the idea (in my smallish studio), of the grid, and really containing the spill.

What I'd really like, is some opinions of the silver versus the white. Is the difference that great?

This is the look/style that I'm getting at the moment...

I want to get away from the flat lighting on the face!

Thanks.

you're just showing off

those are super shots....in fact i'm off for another look..

Now how did you do it.....

The white beauty dish works in exactly the same way as the silver one but the light is less harsh/

For photographing young models with very good skin and excellent professional makeup, my personal choice is for silver, the results are more striking.

For less than ideal subjects, whiter is easier. I've done all the testing for you, it's here

I am told - and this is someone else's promise not mine - that a small delivery of Lencarta beauty dish honeycombs will arrive in about a week.

Thanks for that, Garry.
