I was in South Bank yesterday, not too far on the London Eye. I see three 'Community Support Officers' running away from the subway that goes underneath the bridge. They paused for breath and started legging it again, as far as the Aquarium.

Then a bloke, clearly drunk, comes out of the subway holding a bottle, threatening to smash it against their heads. Most of the public, myself and girlfriend included legged it up the stairs but he started to follow halfway up.

Literally 25-seconds later after I had first seen the bloke. 8 real Police officers were running down to the area and told him once to put it down.

Amusingly, there was a foreign tourist standing on the stairs looking through the viewfinder of his camera taking pictures of Big Ben, completely oblivious that there was a man one-step behind him with a bottle. This bloke eventually legged it after being told to "F-ing move then" and the Police tazered the guy with the bottle.

Then two full Police vans, one Police car, one Police motorbike and an Ambulance turned up within 40 seconds.

A pretty good response I thought, but I would feel more confident if the first point of Policing in the capital wasn't Community Support Officers running away from crime. Clearly, they have no powers or training to tackle someone like that, but they just ran as fast as they can, with no thought to tell any members of the public to get back as an armed bloke was coming out of the tunnel. I'm surprised they weren't too busy hassling photographers, anyway :-)

we had an incident in carlisle not so long ago, i asked a PCSO for permission to go to my house, away from the incident.

response?

you will have to go and ask the real police officer over there, and pointed to a Police woman with a real attitude transplant!!!

LOL to the OP.

It funny how oblivious you are when taking a shot sometimes. I`ll never forget photographing the tigers at the WHF, there I was taking a shot of one of them at the back of the cage, when the other more or less brushed past the cage right infront of my lens! I never even heard him coming.

Keystone cops strike again. Tell me you videoed this for youtube, you did ,didn't you?

There must always be that part of the PCSO brain that asks "What must it be like to be a real Policeman?" I mean really what is the point? One knocked on my door some while ago asking if there were any ethnic minorities living in my street, apparantly there weren't enough and therefore he could not carry out his part of a British Crime Survey. I laughed at first and then realised that he wasn't joking it was his job to find these things out.
