I am by no stretch of the imagination professional. I have a canon 550d and am still learning. I have a tripod, a couple of daylight bulbs with stands & a borrowed hot shoe flash (think that is what it's called).

I really want to have a stab at trying some portrait stuff so have asked around for some willing victims/ guinea pigs. & i have been asked if i will take some shots of a guy for his model book! He is an attractive young man in good shape and wants range of shots including some underwear shots!!

I know this all sounds dodgy but he seems genuine & is a friend of a friend visiting from Brazil.

i dont want to say no as I'd like the opportunity to practice. but other than pointing the camera at him in a range of shots, i dont know where to start. I know lighting is key,

any top 5 tips wouild be very helpful.
 
Come on you portrait guys,give the guy some info..

Don't do portraits myself so no help,just tell the guy you are new to it,but you could get some cracking shots of Him along with some dross.
And have a third party sat in........;)
 
firstly, is he over 18?

Google images for things like "male underwear models" for inspiration.

Also check out the forums and online for body sculpting with lights on how to bring muscles out etc
