BBC Photographer of the Year 2007 comp

Thanks for the heads-up.

At least they have now changed the terms of use for all photographs submitted (They did not really have that much choice following last-years outcry!)
 
In accordance with section 9 of the BBC's Terms of use you agree to grant to the BBC a non-exclusive licence to publish and use your photographs for non-commercial purposes. Copyright will however remain with the photographer.

even as a Nikon owner/user i'd still sell it... :)
 
Well if you take the lens off and lay it on its back, you could use it as a mini barbeque for borrowers.

If I won a Nikon I'd be tempted to keep it, just for the sake of saying "Oi, I got both :p"

Some interesting themes as well:

22 July - Hidden
5 August - Concentration
19 August - Look down
2 September - Heritage
16 September - Time

Any of those makes a change from the usual "water", "portraits", "nature" etc of the usual POTY competition.
 
Forget the Nikon, it should be the satisfaction of having won! Still, I would have thought the mighty Beeb could stretch to a D200 and an 18-200 VR.

woodrage, you've missed the first one off the list. The first theme is 'blue' and the deadline is July 8th.

Yes, I know. It was deliberate as themes based around a particular colour have been done with some degree of regularly by POTY competitions in the past. As themes I like these individual colour ones, but I was focusing on the other subjects because they're quite unusual.
 
So is the BBC Britain in Pictures competition going to be canned aswell? (The one in partnership with Flickr)
