It doesn't have the punch it used to.

I've just watched The Hustle , in previous series I really noticed a marked difference between HD and SD , this series flicking between the two it barely looks any different, then I found the reason why, they've cut the bitrate from 16mbps to 9mbps

Nurse Jackie is on now and the picture is awful, really grainy, I hope this isn't the standard it's going to be when they launch freeview HD this year

Why would you want to watch Gavin and Stacy in HD anyway? imo there are very few programs worth the bother of transmitting in HD to begin with.
 
HD is brill, provided its given the right bandwidth, otherwise its pointless, it thats all that HD will be broadcast in in future i shall scrap having HD, goes completely against the grain of what HD was meant for.
 
This is interesting, I've noticed this too.. very little difference yet the file sizes are still larger. And yes, I'm using a HD monitor
