Battery Grips ~ simple dumb question

OK im getting my new 40D.

Im looking for a battery grip and want to know the difference (if any) between the BG-E2 and BG-E2n.

Are these the only grips for the 40D ?
 
They are the only Canon grips for the 40D - there are other 3rd party version available on ebay etc.

I have the BG-E2n for my 40D, and I think the only difference between the two is some weather sealing...IE some strips of rubber...around the battery compartment. Got a feeling there was another difference too, but cant think what it is off the top of my head. It is nothing major though.

I just bought one of these and although I haven't compared it with an official grip, I'm very impressed with it. It adds a lot more functionality that the official one doesn't.

whats the usual price for the BG-E2n ?

I have an official Canon BG-E2n for my 40D, great quality grip.

Much better build quality compared to 3rd party grips out there.

I've got both the BG-E2 and BG-E2N and if there is another difference apart from the rubber strip I've not noticed it yet! :)
 
im a bit of a wimp when it comes to this one, im a bit unsure of spending hundreds of pounds on a camera and glass to go with it, then to put the cheapest grip money can buy onto it ..... would the camera still be covered under warrenty with a third party grip attached.....

Shouldn't affect the warranty. Surely it's just like using a 3rd party lens/tripod/flash etc.

Did you buy the most expensive glass to go with your camera?!? It's just the same as buying a lens, buy what you can afford at the time and upgrade when you can.
