Hi all, I'm looking at getting D700 next month, waiting to see if it comes down in price during January sales. Has anyone purchased and using a non nikon MB-D10 battery grip. If so have you had any problems with it?

many thanks

I have a Meike one on both the 300 and 700, both work fine with non oem E4 batteries.

Some on ebay chuck the end plate in as well Mark.

where did you get the enel-4a and charger.

Batteries are 7day shop, charger off ebay from China.

I`ll try and find the seller for you.

I got a link delight one for my D300s (same one as D700) at the start of the rugby season and so far so good!

I'd highly recommend getting the D3 battery and charger (got mine from China off Ebay) as the battery lasts forever (8X high capacity AA's didn't last the first 40 minutes of a game)

If I had to buy again I think I'd get the same again... Would be nice to get the Nikon one but only difference really is build quality (which the Link Delight one seems ok unless you dropped it or something)

Meike one here too on D700. Came with the BL-3 aswell, from Linkdelight on Ebay. Shipping from Hong Kong only took a few days and no customs charge.

Got my 2 en-el4a batteries and MH21 charger on the classifeds here.

All for less than one genuine grip with no batteries.

For that price, gotta be worth a try mate.

This is the one I got, didn`t have all the warnings when I got mine, it does charge all my batteries. As an aside, the battery that came with it was crap and I told them so, they refunded £30 or so.

I also had a proper Nikon grip for a short time, the differences, apart from price, are negligible.

I got all the grips for my Canon's 550D, 7D and 5DMkII off ebay. All 3 were 3rd party grips and all 3 came with extra batteries as well. The 550D grip and 4 batteries was £39.99, the 7D grip and 4 batteries was £44.99 and the 5DMkII grip and 3 batteries was £57.95. All 3 have worked perfectly well, all showed the correct battery info and all 3 are still on the go. I think 1 genuine 5DMkII grip would have cost me the same as all 3 put together. There are some bargains to be had off ebay if you're careful.

I bought a genuine Nikon one second hand from MPB, usual high quality sevice, think it was ~£70 from memory and it is the real thing with associated build quality etc.
