Can anyone suggest where I might lay my hands on the plastic covers which normally come with Nikon El-En3e batteries? I've tried Nikon UK and several of the major Nikon outlets with no success. There is a place in the USA but the postage they want is horrendous.

In the past, I've used insulating tape to cover the contacts, being as careful as possible to stop the sticky tape from actually touching the contacts. I've been lucky in that the couple I've bought 2nd hand have had the covers so now, all my spares have covered contacts.

Bit of a faff I'd have thought?

You don't say how much the postage from US is, but perhaps buying a cheap compatible battery that comes with a cover and chucking the battery away would work out less?

Still an expensive cover!

Why not wrap them in one of the coin bags you can get free from any of the high street banks. Should do the trick.

I'm currently using small plastic resealable bags but the sharp corners on the batteries wear through after a time. I don't think the coin bags are any stronger.

Never had the problem but I thought hmmm there must be a solution out there and I came up with the idea of a wide elastic band to cover the contacts so here you are.

I've ordered some! This looks like it might be the answer in the absence of the real thing.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions, much appreciated. If there are any more solutions I would be pleased to hear them.

Put a wanted add up, most people chuck them out anyway!
