Have ordered a new Fuji flash unit for my X-T30, which uses AA batteries. I'm guessing there isn't a definitive answer to the question, but, is it better to use standard disposable batteries or rechargeables?

Any advice much appreciated.

Buy eneloop rechargeable batteries.
I think IKEA do them, own branded or you can get Panasonic ones.
I use the Panasonic ones in my flash.
They last longer, and hold their charge when not in use better than standard batteries.

As Bob says 'buy Eneloops'.

Others will say there are equivalents and they're made in the same factory etc., but we're talking just a couple of quid saved on initial purchasing. IME over many years of using Eneloop Pros; they just can't be beaten - they give a long life and give a reliable output. I swear by them and will not buy 'equivalents'.

I've switched to Eneloop pro's, as I needed to replace my original 7 Day Shop Eneloop copies which had come to the end of their life (there is a limit to how many times they can be recharged).
So far they do seem to be superior.

Note: For Wireless triggers (rather than the flash themselves) I have found a decent quality Alkaline battery to be a more reliable option than rechargables.

I use Eneloops and Ikea 'Ladda'.

I've been happy with both - the Ikea ones are cheaper - but hold their charge like the Eneloops.
