I'm building a new bathroom
It's going to be an old bedroom and bathroom made into 1. I want to put an infra red sauna at one end and I'm wondering about wiring it....
The sauna I'm looking at is not IP rated (none of the indoor ones are) but is basically a solid wooden box with all the electrics on the inside. It draw 1.75kw from a 3 pin plug.
My reading of the regs is that as long as it's 600mm from the edge of the closest splash source (e.g. bath) and is wired to an FSU rather than 3 pin, it should pass regs.
I am checking with an NICEIC electrician who will do the work if we go ahead - but I'm on a time deadline because I've seen a bargain second hand sauna
Anybody know if I've got it totally wrong?
