I've played with my photo's this evening and posted the 800x ones to Photobucket but want to put my larger files on another site.

The 800's are already in JPG but the larger files in TIFF, is there a program that is recommended that will do a batch conversion while keepin as much of the quality as possible?

Yep, photoshop :)

Lightroom should also do it and from Bridge it's tools> photoshop >image >processor.

Ali - I like how you said Lightroom SHOULD do it :P You not installed your copy yet? Or is it still in the post? :p

Ooh didn't realise I could do it as a batch, will go looksee :D

Thanks

I dont know if it can either :s I was just mentioning the fact that you said it should, and I didn't think you had it installed yet :p I noticed yesterday I think it was that you was waiting for it's arrival :)

EDIT: I was thinking that your reply (Nissanman) was actually Miss Melons' reply :P

Another quick Q, whats the highest jpg quality, is it 10 ??

I believe so, well I can't seem to get mine any higher :p

Freebie alternatives include IrfanView; XnView; and FastStone Image Viewer.

Indeed it is 12 in CS4, but I think the OP was referring to LR, but may be wrong :p

Goes all the way up to twelve boys :)

lightroom arrived today but up to my ears in album design. Backed up everything to an external drive tonight, installed it and upgraded to 2.6 so all ready to go.

Now how do I get pictures into it? ;)

You need to take out your CANON camera (otherwise LR notices you are using an inferior camera and shuts down before Import).

(Oh Please Shoot Me Now, before I start a massive debate about Canon vs Nikon lol)

You can actually do that in DPP.

Just open DPP, go to the TIFF files, select all then convert them to Jpegs in Batch processing.

You can also resize them at the same time and change the resolution if required..

Simples!

Doh, many thanks...

Have not used DPP for anything other than playing with the light, colours and a little bit here and there :D
