Batch convert to JPEG

I need to convert 145 tiff images to jpeg. I could do it the long way and open every image and Save As, but if I use the File > Scripts > Image Processor route, how long do you think it would take to complete this task. Just wondering really if it would be quicker this way or to open every file separately. I only have an Athlon 2200 processor in the PC and 512 RAM.
 
Photoshop should handle that easily and tbh take probably less than 30 seconds per image (depending on opening time - and it may be easier to write your own action and run that as a batch file, as if needed you can include other actions in there ie: levels, sharpening etc etc.)

Thanks for the info, all I need is to convert the images, they are proofs that I spent ages on converting from RAW to Tiff, only to find that the person who they are for wanted to look at them on their DVD player - and that will not do tiffs - so I have to convert to jpeg - I'll know for next time :(
 
This actually took less time than I thought it would on my PC. My machine can be rather sluggish due to memory and processor issues - ie not much of either, anyway only took about 10 minutes to covert 148 tiffs to jpegs at compression level 8.
