Hi all,
I really don't know enough about my flash at all and wondered if there was a decent online resource that goes through how to use it quickly and simply for fill-flash as I really need to perfect the technique if I am going to be serious about getting into wedding photography.
Here is a scenario I was struggling with:
As such if I used flash my only choice was to decrease the aperture which only highlighted the poor (and only) location. Is there a way I could of used the flash to my advantage or any other techniques to improve the image in any way? Basically what I am asking is what would you have done?
Any help, or links to external references on how best to use flash lighting, particularly fill flash, would be very much appreciated.
Cheers,
Michael

Here is a scenario I was struggling with:
- It is a very bright day so I was already shooting @ ISO100
- There was harsh light casting large shadows on peoples faces
- The surroundings were not exactly ideal so I wanted to use a smallish (considering I had to get 6ish people focused) aperture of around f6
- At ISO100 and f6 the Shutter Speed was around 1/800, far higher than the 1/200 maximum shutter sync speed
As such if I used flash my only choice was to decrease the aperture which only highlighted the poor (and only) location. Is there a way I could of used the flash to my advantage or any other techniques to improve the image in any way? Basically what I am asking is what would you have done?
