Anybody got any plans for some Bank Holiday photography.
If the weather isn't too bad on Monday I may just go to see some Rally Cross at Lydden Hill near Canterbury , Kent. Should be plenty of panel bashing action and Vicky Butler Henderson will be racing too.

Yep!! Off to Cambridge Beer festival today - partly working and partly wandering with camera, I hope. Hoping to find some inspiration for the "Shoot a stranger" theme.

Tomorrow or Sunday - thinking about going to Southend Airshow - never been and really rather fancy something a bit different. as for the other day - not sure yet......any ideas? Not too far from home (Harlow, Essex) and CHEAP!!!

Might get to any of the following:
Brands hatch, classics tomorrow and motorcycle monday
hop Farm, birds of prey and stuff

not heard of the rally cross thing, that might be cool but i got the kids today

I've been to the Southend Airshow a couple of times, I'de recommend not taking a car though as parking is restricted due to the parking spaces by the Casino being taken up by bouncy castles and the like, plus the roads will be packed getting in and out.

I've seen the rally cross at Brands Hatch a couple of times now but never been to Lydden Hill, so I'm hoping weather won't be bad. If it is I think I may just hibernate till we get our summer some time around next May if we're lucky.

We don't really have many Bank Holidays up here (it's a heathen country you know!) but the Caledonian Railway starts running the steam locomotives again tommorrow (Sunday) between Brechin and Bridge of Dun so I'll be along to get some shots there.

I'm off to darkest Wales shortly to meet IanC_UK and try to grab some shots of Red Kites feeding. The weather doesn't look very promising so far.

Moody Welsh landscapes for Plan B then. :D

Working :(

Sounds good - do you have any links to further info? Their website is a bit, erm, pants to say the least!

Sorry apart from the links found in the one I've posted which is Lyddens Hills own (which is worse still) and the list of entrants, I have no further info. It was only purely by chance I saw the advert for the meeting in Motoring News.
I remember the BBC Grandstand footage from the 70's and 80's of rally cross so expecting there may be a few cars rolling etc. Just have too hope the weather isn't going to be too bad.

Dunno...short of cash, short of petrol... and the weather's dull as f***. Might go for a bike ride instead...

I've got a portrait sittting to do in about 15 minutes.

No, I dont think that counts either.

I'd love to go on a bike ride but my bike fell apart a couple of weeks ago. The threaded top end of the front forks sheared off and was only being held together by the stem bolt. Well until I tried to cross a busy cross road and the forks and front whell went one way and the handlebars went up in the air. My mate's son who worked in a bike shop is trying to source a new set of forks for me that will actually fit. So far he's refurbished one set of his own forks only to find they won't fit and the second set he tried still wouldn't fit. So it looks like I will be going from front suspension to solid forks as that is all that is liable to fit.

Funny - he should have been able to tell if it was a 1 1/4" or 1 1/8" Head-Tube just by looking. And if you even wondered why the sizes in bikes are all seemingly random in terms of millimetres, it corresponds with the old Imperial sizes of metal tube that the Americans still insist on using - 1", 1 1/8", 1 1/4" etc.

I'd love to go do some Bank Holiday snapping, but I really must finish some website stuff I have to do :)

Plus, no money and rubbish weather is looming :(

was going to go to the country show at the hop farm, but the new owners are milking the proverbial and asking members to cough up an extra £5 per adult to get in....*squeaks*

so im going to watch the GP, finish my website, annoy the wife and probably argue with bod about blue and mauve being different colours.

Tomorrow i might go to the classic bike racing at brands though
go in the morning when its nice i think

I'm in the pub all day tomorrow, cant see any use taking my camera with me :D

I'm taking my son back to his mum in five minutes, if only I could get off this site… then I'm off to meet some biker types for tea and cakes...and possibly wander into the woods to see if I can spot that snake again.

Tonight I shall be attend a musical fireworks show, (Not sure how that’s going to work) and probably collect a card full of blurred light filled shots.

Tomorrow, I plan to do absolutely nothing, very similar to today really.

It's Surrey County show tomorrow in Guildford, so may have a wander along if I can't think of anything better to do.

Just found out locally it's Wartime Weekend and there have been events all weekend (Which I've naturally missed). Going to get permission from my better half this evening, to take my camera and play at tomorrows wartime shenanigans :D (That's if she hasn't already made plans for us).

I had the same thoughts but was still thinking of going until the kids warmed to the idea of the Southend Air Show. nilagin had a point about driving though, the roads were very busy but diversions etc seemed more organized this year and even though traffic was heavy it was bearable.

I'm contemplating the same but the forecast isn't too good plus I really could do with a lie in. ;)

forecast is for mainly dry with showers, if im there i will be at the hairpin i think, for some leaning over action!

Well my Bank Holiday has amounted to nothing. with the promise of rain I'd decided to give the rally cross a miss so decided that Banham Zoo in Norfolk might be worth a visit as my youngest hasn't been since he was a baby but the enclosures are fairly good for uninterupted shots of the animals. So we went down to local Tesco minimart, grabbed a few sandwiches etc. to take, go outside to cash point to get some spending money for the kids and the machine thought it would be a brilliant idea not to allow my card to come right out where I could get hold of it. In the end it kept the card and the money. So I decide to take the kids to a country park that my youngest had visited with his school last week and was desperate to go back. Gets to the gate and we have to turn round and come home because I didn't even have money for the car park, Wife and kids had spent all the cash I had at the cinema on Saturday. Now it is pouring with rain. I'll probably choke on the sandwiches we bought in Tescos too.
Hope everyones weekend has turned out better than mine. :(

Went to Lydd yesterday for the British Supermoto Championship and am now sorting through 4.8Gb worth of photos....lucky for me weather isn't too great in Radcliffe, otherwise I'd be out on my Mountain Bike!

Carl.

Well, the weather looked pants, and the £11 entry fee to the County Show put me off (I'm skint). We ended up having a drive over to Basingstoke as we were gonna go bowling, but it was packed with a long wait, so we ended up having lunch and coming home :(

Now it's absolutely belting it down, I have PMS and have just about lost the will to live today :sulk:

went to Brands with wife/kids...Chuffing freezing but i think i might have a few nice bike shots, keep an eye on sharing later!

i woke up on my sisters sofa after consuming my own weight in carling last night, but i had a good night out and danced like a baffoon all night. today ive driven back to my house and drank tea, found out my dvd player is bust and now im bored so ive put the kettle on again

Tea, biccies and sorted my iTunes. Now discovered that all my Placebo has mysteriously vanished, so I'll be importing them again tomorrow. Off to watch telly now...

Matt,

Saw your bike photos on FM - Sports Corner, very good, what exif info?

Carl.
