Right, I'm finally going to get the Redsnapper Tripod from Joe and also one of his heads, my question is:
For landscape pics where I will be carrying the kit up mountains which head would people recommend ?:help:

Ball. I have a pistol grip (Manfrotto 322RC2) And while its good and easy to use, its not ideal. It doesn't allow to to lock it open so you can't use it for panning or wildlife really. Also it makes shifting from landscape to portrait orientation hard and slightly unstable. What's your budget for the head? I would suggest some sort of Arca compatible ball head.

I only have about £100 for the tripod and head together, which is why I was looking at REDSNAPPER.

If you're lugging a tripod up a mountain I would go for the ball head as it will probably be more convenient to carry.

A useful (and cheap) addition to your camera accessories would also be a hotshoe spirit level
