We've just moved to Baku and I'm aiming to take advantage by spending all 3 days at the F1 in June and hoping to get some good shots of a new track. But researching the circuit to select a grandstand and try and scope out potential good viewing / action areas round the circuit and it starts to look a bit worrying:(

Looking at the grandstand layout and viewing areas on the F1 site and it looks like lots of the track has no grandstand and no general access. I can believe it as the track runs through the city centre which is relatively narrow streets, I can imagine safety barriers and marshals either side and not much else. Some interesting looking points but it would be a real pain if you can't view from the outside of the track.

Hope they manage to create some general access around the circuit. What is it like at other street circuits for general visibility / access, outside of the grandstand areas?

Cheers

Looking at that circuit map, the AzNeft grandstand would be my choice. Use the FP downtime to explore and see where is best on the ground (rather than a few thousand miles away as I am!)
