Id like to have a backpack I think in which can hold a Tripod also , so maybe a Monopod? if i can get a full Tripod which collapse small then even better!
need a decent one that can hold the sigma for Macro :)

Also is it worth getting a screen protector for the 400D

i'd recommend the lowepro mini trekker AW rucksack style bag, especially if you intend hiking anywhere, and it has a carrier for a tripod too.and a manfrotto 190XPROB or 055XPROB if you're 6 foot or taller....i can also recommend the 804RC2 head...

Thanks for that , can you or anyone spec a lower price range for the tripod? almost fell through the roof at the price of this :D more than my sigma lens! :D £140(inc 804RC2)

just got the redsnapper 517 myself nice bit of kit and excellent price

Thanks shall look into it! anyone have anymore pics on this ^^

Good tripods are expensive mate. Joe`s redsnapper tripods get good reviews, I don`t have one but got a ballhead off him for my 190, well made kit.

wow , ive just looked up the manfrotto 190XPROB on youtube! very sexy :o

though i do feel i cant afford it as of yet so if there are cheaper ones i can use for now (semi decent let me know) i'm still looking at backpacks

What about Gitzo Tripods?

Gitzo tripods are the dog's dangly bits, but they come at a price. ;)

okay lol , so really a manfrotto will last me a lifetime? or not?

My 190 xpro will last me a lifetime,I hope......

have to say i am impressed with the 190XBPRO, again on youtube at the mo looking at the lowepro mini trekker AW , looks very nice at the moment though , it has velcro which makes a noise

another thing

is it worth getting a battery grip for 400D?

okay lol , so really a manfrotto will last me a lifetime? or not?

yes,if you look after it....like anything that gets abused,in the end it will give up the ghost.anything that is quality will cost more, but it should be the only tripod you'll ever need.

as fracster says...the redsnapper has had good reviews from folk on here, although i've not seen/used one myself.

also, lowepro are offering up to £20 cashback on their bags at the moment..a good time to buy methinks..

A Manfrotto or any decent tripod should last you a lifetime and probably those of your kids if you buy wisely, but pods of that quality don't come cheap. I'd strongly resist any urge to try to cut corners on this particular item. :)

Thanks for all your help thus far! :)

Q: if i bought a lowepro mini trekker AW and a 190 could the 190 fit in the tripold holder at the front of the mini trekker?

nice! :P looks like im sorted then really! any reccomendations where to get lowepro mini trekker AW can see one for £35-£40 atm

velbon luxi F is a good tripod, can get low level for ground work and has built in spirt levels
