baffled with prime

hi there, if i use my 50mm prime what setting should i use.i.e auto,a,p,or s.
any advice please.:shrug:

Any you like, but in order to get creative control over the large aperture to gain shallow depth of field (blurry background) then you probably want to be shooting in Aperture mode.

Yes, the main advanatge of using a prime is because of its low f/number, so get direct control of that.

But they work just as well at any setting.
