I've downloaded the trial version of Lightroom and it's just too much. I like the way you can add Keywords and stuff as you transfer files from card to PC but I find the amount of adjustment options bewildering. I thought it was supposed to speed up the editing process but I don't see how. I can now spend four times more time on editing an image and it will still look like a load of old pony.

Perhaps Adobe will come out with Lightroom Elements for muppets like me.

I use Lightroom to just sort my photos out - pick out the good ones and bin the rubbish ones. Oh and label each shoot so I can find my photos quickly.

It can do more than that, but to be honest its PP functions are pants compared to PhotoShop CS2, so I use that afterwards.

If you want quick PP results, try Intellihance Pro - it rocks even for muppets like me :D

Kev Mills - I too am trying it, and being new to all this digital stuff, am finding it fairly hard to get me (fairly empty) head round.. I have been using ACDSee for a while - very basic and easy, and have just got my copy of Photoshop Elements to try, and will also try the link that desantnik has put up, but I still struggle with why I need to have more than one piece of software to make my fairly rubbish pictures look like fairly rubbish pictures with slightly enhanced colours...................................
While here, can anyone please explain what differences there are in photoshop 7, cs2, cs3, and why would I want to spend more than I already have on Elements (yes, I know that is asking for abuse, but I did once try PS7, and really struggled - what does cs2 or 3 have to offer, in easy-to-grasp-for-dummies-like-me - I have even tried to read PS7 for dummies..)

picasa is good for quick dirty edits on photos and raw.

I like the way picasa organises your files, shame it dont run too well on my linux PC

I couldn't see the point either. too slow and NX & photomechanic work so well together and quicker for me!
