Bad parking on Skye

Can't comment on the Quirang but have seen some abysmal parking at the Fairy Pools recently. People drive there and decide they are going to park whatever even if the car park is full so the single track road soon becomes clogged up and almost impassable. Certainly some of the culprits are photographers but the vast majority are tourists of all nationalities some of whom will have cameras.
 
It seems to be more your 'tourist with camera' than actual dedicated photographers. The sheer numbers of tourists this year has been extreme, not even the bad weather has put them off.
On the quiraing the other week they were double parked on the single track road, including all the way along the bad bend. Emergency services would have struggled if they needed to get through. Many locals who use this road to get to/from work were irate as you can imagine.

And don't even get me started on the convoy/club of 20+ campervans that have been touring Skye and feel the need to all go out together every day and clog up the roads :confused:

I've been to Portree a few times recently and missed the worst on the way there as I've been pretty early. Are they still resurfacing before Sligachan as that was causing a huge bunch-up in traffic due to the length of the convoy they were taking through?
 
I think they might be done there now. Currently road to Dunvegan seems to be getting resurfaced at a few different spots with convoy in force.
 
It is usually the slow and inconsiderate daytime s***box drivers that do this. Decent photographers come in the morning and evening when light is good and plenty of proper parking spaces around.
