Had one of those days today where nothing seems to go right :( Woke up with a cold, had a cr*p day at work, too many annoying clients :bang: and all I wanted to do was come home, have a glass of wine (or two ;) ) and forget about it. Then, on my way home, turned right at a mini roundabout and BANG! A Nisan Micra hit me full on at god knows what speed but she certainly wasn't breaking  . You wouldn't believe the damage a Nisan Micra can do to an M3 :( It's actually split the passanger door horizontally, done the front wing, rear wing and even slashed the rear tyre! I drove it home but it didn't feel good at all :(

I'll take some photos in the morning and add them to this thread so you can see the damage.

I've never had an accident in 22 years of driving

Well, I guess I'm about to find out how good my insurance company is  She admitted liability at the scene 4 times "So sorry, I just didn't see you etc"

Oh and my bl**dy neck hurts too :'(

/rant over

/opens bottle of Rioja

Thanks Pete, just feeling a bit sorry for myself and my car, I love my car :(

It might "only be a Micra", but its still 3/4 tonne of metal on wheels.

Bloody women drivers, eh?

Sure, thats understandable. Is it a write off? Bummer if yes...

Honestly don't know Pete, I'm sure the chassis must have twisted looking at the damage

 at GfK

Sorry to hear that m8 - hope you are ok - watch out for that whiplash / back pain etc & if in doubt see a doctor or someone ...
As to the collision I'd rather be in a Bimmer being hit by a Nissan than in a Nissan being hit by a Bimmer ;)
Paul

Badluck, but atleast your ok, as bad as it is it could so easily have been far worse - goodluck with the insurance

If still not right tomorrow suggest you go see a doctor, incase you end up having to have time off work you could always claim. Hope you dont need to though.

PaulBoy & Warspite, thanks guys and you both make very good points indeed

Yeah I was just saying to Beverley, I'll see how it is in the morning

The main thing is you seem to ok health wise "or does your neck hurt real bad..You sure you don't need a doctor to check it out.. ";) ££££££££££££££££££

Its a fact anyone can have an accident so never knock anyone else because your turn could be next..:nono:

Hope her stance of accepting liability stands when she gets up in the morning after thinking about it.

Any witnesses..

Grrr, I hate nissan micras they cause more hassle on the roads than their size ever warranted. Mostly down to the blind 93yr old little lady drivers!

Oooh it's really sore actually Busterboy :D

Nah, no witnesses, everyone drove off, quite a busy road unfortunately

Ouch!

Well was self inflicted so not too much sympathy required ! lol

Rolled a car on a track day, ended up hanging upside down by the seatbelt ! flippin hurt though !

Oh no... Chav scum at the wheel I bet..

Chav scum ? moi ! LOL bit harsh that ! lol

I restrained my driving like a pillock to track days not the local housing estates ;)

Yeah only joking Ian, You know that already...;)

I hope..:suspect:

Get this! I've just had the young lady's mother on the phone asking if I'd mind pretending to the insurance that it was her driving and not her daughter :annoyed: The cheek of it! She's already told her insurance that it was her driving :cuckoo: Surely she's just shot herself in the foot big time

Sorry to hear about your accident  Do see a doctor if your neck hurts though - it will be documented on your medical records forever then, so if you do need to make a claim, you have medical proof! I got whiplash from a rear shunt about 9 years ago and I still have neck / back problems. I went to hospital and had to wear a silly collar for a few weeks but never claimed :cuckoo:

Glad it wasn't just me that had a crappy day though ;)

Dont do it (Im sure you wont) - but if you did your putting yourself in a serious position if you do.

Bloody hell mate, It sounds very dodgy to me as if she either isnt insured or more likely she doesnt want to lose here no claims being so young..

I would think very hard about this and probably report this to the police and tell them the story..

Having a bump is one thing, Being corrupt is another..:bat:

Thanks Mini. Don't worry guys there's NO WAY I'm playing along with her game :nono: I'll certainly be telling my insurers the WHOLE truth though :suspect:

First off. Get yourself down to A&E and get yourself checked out.
You may feel fine now, but who knows what's damaged.

Also, and believe me, I hate ambulance chasers with a passion, BUT, looking into the future (for legitimate reasons). If, say, the accident has caused an injury that will later incapacitate you, or force you to have time off work etc, where you will rightly be entitled to, and need compensation, it will go in your favour if you have had medical help in the first instance.

As for her mother ringing up asking if they can switch over...Do...Not....do it....at all.
Offer to forget that she rang and asked you if you like, but dont lie to save herself. It can, and most likely will, b****r you up if it becomes serious.
What if it turns out her vehicle wasnt roadworthy, or, say, it turns out she was drinking...or had no license.

It's just not worth it mate, especially not for the risk of the insurance finding out, it all going to pot, and you being out of pocket. Nevermind the possibility of being prosecuted for it.

She also said "I didn't see you"....well if she was going at a fair old speed, then she didnt see the mini roundabout either, or else she SHOULD have slowed down.

This is one of my pet hates at mini roundabouts. Especially on straight roads....when people come screaming down the road, and as they think they have right of way over anything from the side road (to their left), then they dont have to slow down, as nothing is coming up the road ahead of them (and no road to the right).

Cue me coming from the side road and trying to pull out but these bumholes are doing 40 mph towards the roundabout, so I have no chance.

You dont have right of way until you are ON THE ROUNDABOUT...doughnut.

Did you get round to opening that Rioja? Sounds like you are in serious need.

Take it easy and get your neck checked out... as previous.
You can get a new car, but if yr body is knacked ...

Only concern i have with all this, is if she isnt insured, im not sure who you can claim against ! Only thing can do if thats the case is take them to court ? Hopefully someone else can comment ! (Ill ask a mate whos Police as well)

Marcel I know you're right about getting checked out and thank you for your kind words. I think, having given it some thought over the last little while, and listened to the advice from you guys, I definately will, but it'll have to wait until the morning coz I've opend that Rioja now and it's going down very well

Thank you everyone for being so concerned, I really appreciate it :)

She did give me her insurance company details and policy number so I think the issue is more to do with her age and the policy excess  I'm pretty sure she was only 17 or 18. Not really my problem though is it?

I still havent had my crash damage fixed yet - but it was far less worse than yours sounds :(

Blimey Joe, that was ages ago!

tough break chap, i remember when my sierra got rammed by a nissan maxima..was gutted...

hope it all works out, and get on to the police

Blimey Joe, that was ages ago!

I know. And its gone wrong again since then. The bloody thing keeps breaking on me.

The current list now includes a new motor for the rear passenger nearside window mechanism.

Thats on top of:

new PDC for the rear
respray bumper
new trim round bumper
new indicator unit (to be bodged in or else have to replace main headlamp unit too)

And this is all after spending £1500 on it in two months. The worst bit is the hassle of getting it to my specialist - who is nearly an hour's drive away. :(

Anyway, back to your problem...

just spoken to my mate, he said the mum is committing an offence lying to the insurance, so she is in trouble anyway ! he agrees with whats been said already, tell your insurance the truth and then let them deal with it ! :)

Sorry you're still having all this hassle Joe, the accident wasn't your fault though was it? How come the insurance isn't coveing it?

Ian that's so kind of you to speak to your mate for me. I really appreciate it, thanks. I'll definately be telling them how it really happened.
