I've just come back from the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition at the Natural History Museum and what caught my eye apart the the stunning images on display was the method of display itself.

Back lit images that just jump out of the frame with the depth of colour and sharpness, looking at the prints on sale of the images in the gift shop really drove home how good the displays were.

Has anyone tried this for domestic display?, I have found both illuminated frames and "backlit poster printing" but like all things that "look stunning" I suspect there is bit more to it than buying stuff over the internet.

Thanks

David

I felt the same as you about last year and also so did a bit of investigating.
Its a LED lightbox panel with the photo printed on translucent film that can be used in an Inkjet printer.
Thought about having a go myself, but like so many of my ideas other stuff overtook it.

Try metal prints, or metallic paper acrylic prints. They get a lot of the same effect from the light bouncing off the metal behind the print.
