Backdrop support system

Hi everyone,

I'm putting up a backdrop support system. I'd really appreciate advice on whether the items below would give me a good setup.

Expansion drive kit to fix 4 backdrops with bracket

2.75x6m White High Key Vinyl Backdrop 660gsm

I'm thinking the white vinyl will be most used and I'd like to use this for full length, too. I'm wondering just how durable it is as it will be laid on a smooth, concrete, garage floor and will be walked on/have a stool or chair stood on it.

This will give me a spare slot to add something later, possibly something patterned.

IMO, white backgrounds get trashed - whatever they're made of. Blowing out the vertical bits is easy enough and if you're good with 'shooping out floor marks, that's okay, but I tend to stick with paper for my whites, it's just less grief.

I've only ever bought vinyl when I've known I'll have a lot of people on and off a background and then it's been in darker shades of grey.

Thank you for the info. I don't think the brackets on that one are going to suit where I'm putting it though. Shame, I'd love to save the money!

Hi, I use vinyls with no problem, have done for the last 12 months. The only problem is their weight so you have to make sure the background supports are up to the job.
I put down a roll end of a vinyl floor on the concrete and find it works well.

What type of floor are you laying the vinyl onto? How durable has it been, please?

I'd second the paper roll. I used to have access to a room with a painted concrete floor, it's worth sweeping before you roll down, but £35-40 for a large white paper roll lasted a reasonable amount of time.
