Hi all, hoping for some advice please :-)

Has anyone got or had a WD My Cloud Personal Cloud Storage?

I need a new 2nd back up for my photography as my current hard drive is almost full and someone mentioned this to me as a great back up so I wanted to see others thoughts.

Thank
Helen

so from the lack of response am i right in saying that no-one has one of these or ever has????
Would be nice to get some replies please :)

My question to the OP is:
Are you looking for backup, redundancy or both ?
Also Budget ?

How about a simple £60 hard drive with USB3
Plug it in, backup your folders, unplug it, hide it somewhere fireproof.
Keep it simple : simple enough to actually use with no learning involved.

Thank you.
What's redundancy?
Safeguard for a single drive failing, however does not protect against deletion or corruption so is not a backup.

Also watch out for drobo. I've heard many a story of their support being less than useful. Seems like they use a proprietary file system that cannot be read in another machine if the unit fails.

If you really so want to go down the NAS route you won't beat Qnap or synology. Spoken to synology support a couple of times and they've been exceptional.
