Evening all,

My wife is 27 weeks pregnant and I've been chomping at the bit to try out some baby bump photography, so I was after any suggestions or advice.

My current setup is a Canon 5D mk1, 50mm and a wide angle lens, now it's pretty obvious I'll be using the 50mm for this type of shot, I've seen a few shots on Flickr that I like and would like to do similar to, however in terms of setup I'm very restricted, since I have no flashes, studio lights or backdrops, so I've been thinking about going up the mountain and get some nice outside shots in some long grass etc.

I do want to do some low light ones inside, any recommendations on carrying this out? I do have a large window in the spare bedroom which does have a plain white wall (newly painted, I'm a DIY god... I wish!) would it be a good idea for me to try some in that room, putting the shutter speed quite high to get a dark image then process it B&W?

Sorry if this sounds look a nooby question, just really want to get some nice images to give out to family members :)

Thanks in advance,

Matt

You can get some very good shots by the window. A reflector to direct the light and maybe a net curtain to diffuse the light would be useful.

Sue Bryce is amazing and does exactly this.

Ask your wife how she wants to look, what mood she wants to convey and how she will feel happy posing. If shes not totally relaxed and happy it will show in the shots.
Its the best she'll ever look for you, make her feel that way to.

The next stage is nursing shots. Even more special.
