when i get the doldrums i dont force it
when i am on a high i take loads of shots ...mostly rubbish but i feel good
dont do it just because you have a camera

Yep, trust me it happens to everyone! What's really perked up my love of photography was starting working for the university paper, I've learnt more in the last few weeks that I have since I first started using a camera.

Try something different, all I ever really shot before was the odd animal in my garden, since then I've been doing all kinds of sport, stage productions, portrait shoots, and I'm abolsutely loving it

Or alternatively, are you doing a 52? Or the monthly competition? Both are great ways of making you do something a bit different, and you'd be amazing and how much difference it makes!

Chris

yeah all i usually do is scenery and i love it dont get me wrong maybe just run out of places to go and will have to go hunting for more

Very good advice chris321. I'm just starting to get back into my photography after a few months off and I'm very excited but lacking in motivation so I just need a kicking really and get used to carrying my camera around again.

im gonna start taking mine out in my lorry again never know what you can see when your out on the road

I normally photograph horses and for personal reasons have not done any since November. To amuse myself I have been going out for a couple of hours at weekends and having fun getting pics at different sports where I have no idea about the rules (and frequently no idea of whats happening either) or how to get pics that those taking part would like to see!! Its been really good fun and its led to me being invited to do 2 very different shoots this summer that will take me miles out of my comfort zone :help:

With me it was not a case of the doldrums but had I not done this I would hardly have taken the camera out at all for months.

Yeah, but as im a student I have to photograph atleast once a week, just to keep ontop of the amount i need in my projects.
Usually I find researching any form of artist (visual, music, written) helps me with ideas.

that lack of interest is the morrison effect ,as soon as you get away from them it'll come back,

I get paid.
Whether I'm inspired by the subject is irrelevant...happily I usually am, but the process of image-making isn't the thrill...the image is.

lol donut i am free of the hell hole now back at apta again now and loving it lol

I was in your shoes just recently, I started the 52 challenge on this forum and it's forced me to take pictures on themes I wouldn't normally even think about so it's good

how do you find the list for your 52s please guys

This week I've been in North Yorks, I've taken perhaps 2 dozen pics, mostly rubbish, I put it down to the the cloudy skys and no memorable ship wrecks; but you never know the grey cloud may have cleared over Revieux abbey, but not on my watch.
Photographs are memories easily bought to mind or a good tale told to those interested. If you've taken a picture which you think is good, then it is; if is it good to someone else, then so be it; be selfish and enjoy the moment.

When I'm stuck for ideas, I usually visit Flickr and browse the Group Pools for the camera & Lenses that I have. You get a huge variety of ideas all using the kit you have.
