No
In the past for both our cars we have stuck with the same brand as factory fitted........ Bridgestone in the main.

However, the OH's car might need a new tyre....subject to a pre MoT test advice.

The Bridgestone are premium brand at £95 per tyre but the tyre place suggested either Avon at £80 or Kumho at £70

Now, I know of Avon yonks ago and they were considered a good tyre brand.....Kumho I think I have seen about but know nowt about them.

So, seeking any buyer/usage insights about Avon and Kumho?

TIA:)

I don't think you can really go wrong with either brand tbh

I used to have Bridgestone on the Escort until they stopped making them so now Yokahama but there's hardly any choice there anyway.

On the daily cars I've just gone branded with whatever has been on offer including Avon in the past. Currently Yokahama on the back and Dunlop on the front - price wise on the Focus there was little difference really between a good dozen different tyres.

thing i allways look up is noise when looking at tyres.
some tyre brands are very noisy and if you do a lot of motorway you can notice it

Thanks for the insights.

A good point to consider....though not just brands as tread pattern variations are there to be found within brands and tread pattern I thought was a major contributor to level of noise?

I have Kumhos and have found them very good!

When I worked at Kia many came with Kumhos direct from the factory, there are of course many diferent tyres in a brands range, check with above ratings test and the model of tyre being offered.

Had kumhos on 2 new Kia’s; both gripped well wet or dry and decent mileage on a fwd car. Unlike the continentals on my latest sportage, 13000 miles and on the wear indicators

We were going to go for Kumhos (IIRC) when Mrs Nod's MX-5 needed a new pair of boots but the place we use didn't have them in stock but did have a pair of Avons. For the extra tenner, we took the immediate option but would have been happy with the Kumhos. You might feel the difference on a track but in real life on the road, I doubt you'ld notice a difference.
