Arghhhhhhh, :runaway: :runaway: :runaway:

I got dust on my sensor :help: :help: :help:

Right, panic over, all but 2 blown out with an old green brush/blower thing (so that's what they're useful for, took the brush bit off first ;) ) and they're only visible beyond f18

so much for expecting the automatic sensor cleaning to work on the 400D :nono:

I know when it happened, and I KNOW you should hold the body upside down when changing lenses BUT . . how many hands does everybody have? I can't get my head around the logistics of a lens change without being able to put the camera body down somewhere while I shuffle lenses in & out of the bag and twiddle the caps. A real problem if its outside & windy or raining, . . . or on the dusty seat of a 23 year old landrover :whistling:

I think I have worked out a methodology by using a cap on the body while I sort the lenses in & out of the bag, but its a right rigmarole and hardly quick or simple, what is everyone else's routine? Is there a RIGHT way to change lenses?

I loosen the cap & stand the lens up straight (the one that I want to put on the camera) I then remove the lens I've been using from the camera & pick up the other lens at once - as the lens cap is loose it's easy to remove the lens & place it straight on the camera, leaving the lens cap behind ready for the lens you've just removed. Takes a bit of practice (& I've made it sound really difficult ) but I have no problems changing lenses now.

^^ Exactly how i do it.

It helps to have the lens you want to change standing upright with the end cap loose and the dot in the correct position for fitting, then body pointing down, lens on camera off and put next to the one thats about to go on, switch the loose cap to the lens thats just come off and new lens goes on..

Simple!
