Hello!

I'm in the market for a new lens. In 2020, I'll be continuing with completing the Munros (Scotland) of which I've only completed one Haha! I'm looking for a good focal length suitable for the hills to put on my Sony A6000. I already have the below focal lengths:

Samyang 12mm (18mm FF)
Olympus OM 50mm (75mm FF)
Vivitar Series 1 70-210mm (105-315mm FF)

Apart from the 12mm the other two lenses are adapted lenses.

I've been thinking of a 24mm (36mm FF) for fill the gap I'd need for the hills. The lenses I'll use dont necessarily have to be native lenses as I'm happy to adapt so long as it's a quality lens.

Let me know your most used focal length and if you have any lenses in mind.

Cheers

When I went bagging with my Panasonic G80 I used the 12-60mm which would be 24-120 ff equivalent.
Now I've got my A7ii I'll be taking the 24-105mm

Personally - in ff lenses or their equivalents, I'd take a 24 or a 28, and a 50 or an 85 ...

And I'd check out their flare performance because sometimes I'd be contre-jour.

Have fun on the Inn Pinn!

When I'm out and about in the West of Scotland I mainly use fixed lenses with 28m, 45mm, and 75mm equivalents. I occasionally use a 21mm equivalent but not often. If I'm not carrying a tripod I find I can still take reasonable handheld panos using the 28mm or 45mm equivalent - the distances usually mean the point of rotation just isn't critical.

(Coinicidentally I still have an old 70-210 Series 1 dating from about 1982 lying around - my first zoom - its quite a lump - I haven't felt any inclination to take it up any hills for a few years!)
