I've got a 15gb AVCHD movie file that was shot on a Panasonic Camcorder. I've now got the file on my MacBook Pro, however no software seems able to convert it. iMovie doesn't recognize it, Final cut doesn't - the only way I know the file is actually fine is that it plays beautifully in VLC! I've spoke with AppleCare for over an hour, and even their solution to download some free software off the web didnt work! does anyone have any advice? I don't want to buy some software for this one time thing really - essentially I need to convert the file to an iMovie/FinalCut compatible format.
