I have a laptop with Windows Vista Home Premium, as the title states, can I get my laptop to automatically fire up Lightroom when I connect my camera to my laptop?

and then, automatically create a new folder in Windows explorer entitled with the shooting date (Similar to what EOS Utility does)?

Thanks in anticipation

Pete

Woah!!!

Usually people are asking to do the reverse of that!

There is an option within Lightroom (and probably within Windows too) to launch Lightroom when a memory card/camera is detected. If you do a search on here you will find loads of people asking how to turn it off, it is the same control.

I can't remember where it is off the top of may head as I set it once, then haven't had to use it since.

Thanks Lewis,

Funny old thing! it's never done that for me, hopefully somebody can tell me how to switch it on, (but at least I know it can do it, I'm at work as I'm writing this so can't have a ferret myself) and help with my second query.

Thanks again Pete

you can set it to copy file to new location and add to catalog as part of your auto import opitions. That will do the second bit of what you are after.

Oooh sorry, didn't read the second part, that is very easy with the Import dialogue.
