Aussie soap Neighbours to be axed in August?

Is it still going . Oh well

I was never a fan of Neighbours but I realise many are, but what really surprised me about this was that it was an item on major news programmes, like we haven't got enough other things to report on.

Oh dear, how sad, never mind

It seems to have been responsible for a generation of people who use the 'Antipodean Interrogatve Ending' ie taking the pitch of the voice up at the end of a sentence as if it were a question although it actually isn't.
Maybe I should admit to being CDO - it is the same as ODC BUT WITH THE LETTERS IN THE CORRECT ORDER!

Australian garbage.

It gave us Kylie and Jason and, for that alone, should be forever banished to the naughty step.
It also gave us the gorgeous Holly Valance and her equally gorgeous sister Olympia.

And also the sexiest woman in the known Universe, April Rose Pengilly.

Haven't watched it since Bouncer the dog died, although it's only just recently I found out that it is still being shown on UK TV, I thought it was abandoned ages ago. At the same time I noticed its sister programme Home And Away is also being shown, I reckon that will be the next to go.
Aussie soaps being on prime tea time TV in the main channels was all the rage in the 1990s, but just like everything in life it was a fad as they got replaced by cookery programmes (Ready Steady Cook), then chat shows (Paul O Grady and Alan Tichmarsh), now it's all quiz shows such as Tipping Point and The Chase. Wonder how long it'll be before that will give way to something else, especially as Bradley Walsh just said he wants to take early retirement soon.

Tipping Point
That's probably the only thing I watch that would be in that "class" of programs , its on, on plus one, when I'm having my tea :)

But some of the contestants really do make me chuckle, especially the ones that fluke it to the final, with a decent "drop" somewhere along the line.
And then have very poor general knowledge.. and get one or two end game questions right.

My other half likes Tipping Point and the Chase etc as well as the 'baking' programmes. I watch very little TV.

I watch very little TV.
Tipping point, that's about my limit, these days. Although I do very occasionally watch the chase.
There are too many reality programmes on TV these days,
People being recorded watching TV programmes? And then showing that as a TV Programme ? that's pretty low..
As is I want to be a celebrity, get me in that jungle now!

For Jungle, read cold wet Welsh castle.

I'm a sucker for quiz programmes of the Mastermind/University Challenge/Countdown type.
