How do you attach a photo to a mount. I print off a borderless image (to make it easier to fix in the aperture on the mount) and then use some archival acid free tape to fix the image to the back of the mount using 'T' fixes.
If it is A4 size I will use 2 'T' fixes and for A3+ 3 'T' fixes......by doing this it leaves the image free around the other 3 sides to prevent warping/creasing etc.
Anyone use a different method

This is the accepted way Dave, which allows the print to expand and contract behind the mat without wrinkling.

Whilst gluing down, dry mounting and laminating can offer very attractive finishes, I believe your method is the one preferred for archival and 'for sale' prints.

Anthony.

Thanks for your method Rose and Anthony appreciate you confirming that my method is OK.
I read of various methods sometime ago and decided that this way was easy to do and did not restrict the paper over time.
Thanks again
Dave

I can fully recommend PhotoMount™ Adhesive. It's about £10 for a 200ML spray which is pretty reasonable as it's pH Neutral & 'ideal for archiving, mounting photographs, illustrations & prints.' I've used it for creating my portfolio & for mounting prints onto foam board for an exhibition.

Hi Dave. Could you explain what you mean by t fixes please? :)

Apologies for late reply......PM sent
