Like a muppet, I let this couple see all the ones I took of them at our Dinner Dance and the one that I was happy with technically wise, they liked but preferred this one. Argh!! I have been playing in psp but to no decent results with getting the shadow out of it without the edges going screwy.

Here's my before with no cropping or anything:

Here's my attempt to lose some of the background without it looking too crap:

But it's still no give away quality iyswim.

Can someone help me please before husband has to plaster up the :bang: :) I have PaintShopPro Xi

TIA

A very quick fix and by no means perfect but could be done well given some time. ;)

I don't have PSP but I'd use the pen tool to draw around them, convert the path to a selection, feather the edge by one or two pixles and invert the selection, just delete the background and drop in your own. Wayne

hmm I just seem to have made it look like they should be on top of a wedding cake :|

Not much to work with at 800pix, but here you are (hmm I've over softened the lower left edge of her dress... never mind, you get the idea)

next time just get them to stand at least 6 feet from the wall and you wouldnt have ugly shadows.:'(

hi sheila, are they after a full length shot, or could you crop them just above the skirting and closer all round to remove most of the bg, then try using the curve to brighten slightly.

use the lasso tool to select the background behind them(2nd item down on the left i think) then invert selection(in the main menu across the top, towards the right hand side) then either brighten till the wall is pure white and shadow gone, or use the clone brush to copy from another area.

i assume next time you will make them stand a little further from the wall?

Kerioak, I think the second one is better, but I would crop it to just above his knee, as with the background plain all the way down it looks as if they are floating on air. I would probably use a graduated background, and leave a bit more space above his head. He looks like he is ducking to get into the picture.

Here's what I would do ............

Some great efforts there, puts mine to shame :D

Unfortunately, Fletch, they are wanting the full length otherwise, I woul dhave just needed to lose the shadow

I do like Kerioak's second one and macker's first (although the second one is cool  don't think it will be what they are after though!)

How did you do the floor, macker?

Thanks everyone, really appreciate the help :D

How did you do the floor, macker?

It was just cloned from the existing carpet/sheet they were standing on ..............
