Hi everyone.

I have just moved home and am taking my small home based family photography business with me. I will be using, as before, a spare room upstairs. I am having a massive headache regarding what kind of flooring to use or have. This is because I will be using it over the carpet in the room.

I have white muslin backgrounds for ease as paper rolls are not suitable, obviously because of the carpet floor and also I cannot support the weight of them in the room or fit them in anyway, so the muslin suits me fine as a background.

As for the flooring every option I think of seems to hit a brick wall.

Does anyone else here have carpet under their flooring? What do you use or what would you use? I often have 4 or 5 young kids running, jumping and generally being kids so need something strong and firm that will not break after 5 minutes ( acrylic sheets, Perspex ) but also flexible enough to get up your average size staircase!! Oh and not going to cost the earth either!

HELP! :bang:

Plywood sheets.

This has been covered recently (sorry no pun intended).

I use cheap old Wickes click together laminate... a couple of packs are about £12 and you simply lay a patch of it over the carpet then fit your background laying over it. It works a treat! The background doesnt sink into the carpet anymore and the background doesn't walk itself across the nap of the carpet either. Then when you want to use it as a room again just unclick the flooring back into its box. I use this for nurseries too under my vinyl and it hasn't given me any trouble in a couple of years using the original packs
