At last ... a real geotag camera!

Do you have to wait 3 minutes for the gps to find the satellites before you can take your shot? :)

I can see GPS having it uses in some situations, but not to the extent that makes it a must have item in a camera for every day use. I suppose there's only so much you can do to a camera to make it different from it's rivals so adding this kind of thing is inevitable.

ironic how 2 of the 4 sample photos are OOF/fuzzy. Oh dear.

I wonder how long it will take for Google to hook into something like this? I know they do something similar where you can upload photos of a location. Just a thought.

It's properly useful to me. As well as the photography I also go metal detecting. taking a GPS point of exactly where a find has come from is invaluable. as when I get home I can then upload it as an overlay on Google earth, thus showing a close up shot of the find and placing it onto a map. It shows up the hot spots, aids recording and also it's great for further researching area's.

A built in gps system that is turned on and off is a nuisance and will never better an independent unit that is permanently on.

Personally.....I'd just use your phone, I think they all have a setting where you can choose to have GPS data embedded, my Nokia does. Save a bit as well, go towards some good glass. :D
