Tomorrow I start my final piece which im doing in the media photography. My work will be inspired by the work of Edward Weston and his peppers. Ill be using a little light tent and lamps to light it but i've read that its best to light from the top? any help with lighting or tips in general would be most appreciated!

If you want something that looks like Weston's peppers.. do not use a light tent!!!

A soft light source like a small softbox, or small beauty dish from above only.. and shoot in a large, dark space to nothing bounces back. Then control the lght by experimenting with small pieces of white card at the sides to bounce light back in, and moving the main light source around. A light tent will just light the pepper evenly from all sides, and make it look like a shot for cut out or a picture of a pepper on Sainsbury's website or something :) Plus.... a light tent will result in the pepper floating in a white space.
