It's a little rude to ask people to participate in your research immediately upon joining the forums, don't you think?
Why not introduce yourself, explain the purpose of your questionnaire, give people an idea if becoming an active member is part of your plan, or if you're just looking for participation.

I see this on a lot of different forums, it seems to be a thing in education these days, undertaking a meaningless online survey as part of some project. The worst ones IMHO are like this, no context, no here's why I am asking this, don't even give us any indication of how long it might take to complete the survey. What is in it for me, do I get to see the results?
