I have about 7x M42 lenses (Mainly Prinz) inc Zoom and a Prinz Galaxy 400mm, and each with differing filters fitted (always).

Are they worth hanging onto for when I get a DSLR?

Hopefully I should be able to get adaptors for them.

and NO I don't know which camera I will be getting.:)
 
You can get M42 adapters for most modern cameras, so no reason why not.
 
I was a little concerned about the quality of Prinz (Dixons)

I take it the light meter is still worth keeping.

Perhaps even more so with manual lenses.

Or would most use the auto exposure settings

Would these be suitable for a 4/3 Camera like the Gf1?

To be frank most cheap old lenses don't perform very well on digital, especially zooms. Generally you need to aim for the higher grade stuff as lens technology (well mostly coatings technology) has come on a long way since these old thinsgw ere even half decent. You do get lucky though and there are some cracking little legcay lenses out there, so yes if you can get an adapter for your camera you may as well at least try them and see, if they're no good there's always ebay.
 
I remember them well. they are not good lenses, Sold as has been said, by Dixons, back in the 70's
 
Dixons had the Prinzflex I seem to recall, which was a rebadged Zenith.
 
Yes they are mainly prinzflex plus a whopping Prinz galaxy 400mm.

Were Zenith any good?

My first camera was a Green Werra (Anyone remember them) but I then bought myself a Practika MTL3. Excellent camera at the time. Then moved up to a Nikon SLR.

After Xmas I think I hear fleabay calling then.

Since I am only an aspiring amateur, having given a LOT of thought & time as to which way to progress. I will now get rid of these lenses and all of the equipment and fork out for a Nikon P7000, a Lumix LX5 or a Canon G12 or similar.

Then, should I ever move up to DSLR I will buy lenses to suit.
