Are there any tricks to finding one's way to the beach for a sunrise shot? I have 2 days off work next week, and would like to try an early morning sunrise shot somewhere involving the sea. DD looked unusual/interesting/done to death, but would also fit the requirements.

I'll need to be able to park up & then walk down the the beach - are there gates or other hazards to be aware of?

Might be worth overnighting in one of the caravan park's cottages so you can park easily and be "on site" for the early start. Looking at TPE, you need to be about 300m West of the arch to get the sunrise through it (if that's what you're after). Another advantage of overnighting would be the ability to do a daylight recce - and maybe capture the arch bathed in evening light. Check the weather forecast though. From memory (VERY hazy!), the steps down to the beach are quite steep and can be slippery.

Thanks Nod. O/Ning isn't on the cards, but rather is a 4am departure to arrive around 6.20 & give time to find may way down to the beach. It's possible that there may be too much haze or the clouds will cover the sun (although auntie beeb suggested it may be OK) but it would be nice to have a go.

This site suggested that getting the sun through the hole may not be possible yet: https://www.paulreiffer.com/2015/12/through-the-keyhole-durdle-doors-sunrise-revisited/
