Looking on a few other forums I heard that Fuji are stopping the production on 5X4 velvia 50, again.

I've just had a look on the fuji film store to see if it was still on there, no longer listed as an item!

Anyone shed any light on the subject for me, maybe its time for a big spend and fill the freezer if its true!! Hope its not though . . .

Thanks

Edd

Dear Fujifilm Online Shop customer,

Just to clarify the situation with the supply of Velvia 50 film in the UK. Many of you know that it has been in short supply for some months. I can confirm that fresh stocks of Velvia 50, in all popular formats, will be arriving with us from Japan in mid November. This includes:

35mm, 120, 5x4, 5x4 Quickload and 10x8 sizes

Unfortunately, we are now down to our last few rolls of 35mm, but still have reasonable stocks 120 5-packs. In addition we have a few boxes of 5x4 inch, dated June 09, which are on special offer.

We are sorry that there may be a period where Velvia 50 will not be available to purchase from Fujifilm UK directly (other than 120 size). However, some of the photo dealers around the country may still have some Velvia 50. Alternatively, may we suggest you try Velvia 100 or Velvia 100F in the meantime? The results are very similar and you'll gain the advantage of a doubling of film speed (handy in these darker months!).

You can read the tech specs on these films by visiting the Fujifilm website at www.fujifilm.co.uk/professional/films.html

As we expect a long list of back-orders once the fresh stock arrives, may we suggest that you place your orders for Velvia 50 soon, so that you'll be one of the first to receive it.

not to worry, just a glitch in the Matrix :D

brilliant, just got myself on a few boxes left of 5x4 on the fuji store.

Really could do with getting a large stock on in the freezer though i think

Yeah, tis a good plan. Especially when the OOC stuff is half the price and will last for ages when frozen. Oh, and doubly so now that autumn is nearly upon us.
