£189 sounds a wee bit much if it's just the body on it's own - you'll find better buys than that on the TP Sales forum
 
Well I have the A100 and love it, great to start with and I already had quite a few minolta lenses so it was a natural choice for me. I think you will probably be able to get one cheaper than £189 though with kit lens although I don't know where from, I know I've seen them quite cheap in LCE and Jacobs but they may have been second hand.. maybe someone else can help you out

It is just the body..Hmm...

theres another one im watching that is at £49.99 at the minute (has 9 days left though so I wont hold my breath!!) nd that includes the whole lot and a tripod

sorry its so long but any idea how much you expect all that to go for?
 
which 70-210mm?
if it's the constant f4 aka beercan then that on it's own would go for £100 plus these days.

Personally I would probably look at an A200 before the A100 as whilst it lacks a few minor features compared to the A100 it has improvements in what imo are more important other areas. You should be able to pick up a new (with full warranty) A200 plus the kit 18-70mm for ~£260.

edit: but either is perfectly fine for learning on.

BUT the a100 does have two facilities NOT on the a200 ... Depth of Field preview and mirror lock-up (with the 2 second timer). Both are iimportant to learning photography
 
I'm watching a few Sony's on Ebay at the moment and was just wondering if its a good camera to learn on with my old Minolta lenses etc.

There is a Sony a100 at £189 is this a bargain or over priced?

Have seen a few 200/350 at £250 and way over £500 in places...what sort of price would you think is realistic to spend on a second hand one??

Please reply as the cameras have only hours left!!:D

those are 2 of the minor (imo) features that I mentioned as missing.
For me they are irrelevant & I would rather have the faster/better AF & higher Mp sensor.
