No
I just wondered if Panamoz are still trading, after reading rave reviews about them on here I called them on Wednesday about a Lens purchase (UK number), no answer so left a message for them to call me back, nothing, called them Thursday no answer so again requested a call back, again nothing, and again this morning and guess what no answer, requested a call back and again nothing, so for such a great company their not instilling much confidence, so if anyone knows if they are still trading could you please confirm or not, whatever the case may be, and if anyone from Panamoz reads this get a bloody grip, it's no way to run a business, either answer your phone, or have the decency to return a customer's call !

Thought I had heard that the UK number was no longer active, most email them.

yes, paid for a lens on Wednesday and it was delivered this morning :)

Well it's certainly active Gramps, as the message says 'customer service is busy please leave a message' if it's not active they should say so on there website, it's a UK number so I would expect a call back, but that's just me I guess, I'm a fussy b****r like that, lol.

Don't forget the Chinese New Year is about now and that will mess everything up.

Well I've emailed them twice over the last week and got a reply within 5 minutes on both occasions, as usual Brilliant.

Yes they are active. They should just remove the phone number tbh it's never been answered.

Well I did email them about a Tamron 24-70mm 2.8 vc lens, and to be fair the response was quick, that haven't had this lens in stock for months, when I asked why they said because of quality control issues, they had a lot sent back, I find it odd really as other retailers are selling plenty with no problems, however their has been a dramatic price increase in grey imports of these since Christmas, HDEW have increased their price from £550 to £625 since Xmas which is quite a hike in a couple of months, so I'm guessing that be more of a reason, as it may not even be worth buying grey now for this lens anyway :(

MPB have got one in mint condition for 599 btw (assuming you want canon fit of course)

No Nikon unfortunately, I,ve seen a couple of Canon mint ones, the law of sod :)

Think I may just get one from a mainstream dealer, HDEW Price doesn't justify buying grey on this lens now.

TRD Uk cameras are selling them on ebay for 547 - though ive never heard of them and i'd by wary of anyone who thinks turd is a good name for their company ;)

Indeed, lol

I've been in contact with Panamoz regarding the X-Pro2 & they have been responding to my emails quickly.

Hey - I've used these guys a couple of times now - it seems that the stock is in the UK and I've actually picked-up lenses from them so I've tried before I've paid for it (the 'issue' with their name hadn't occurred to me!!):

I have trouble believing they (TRD) are a uk based firm when they have text like this on their website

TRD Electronics has always called astute and polite faculty in order to reply your queries, form suggestions and convey quick fix. Our products are available on our updated website with the latest technology, the first-rate accords and plethora facts and tips to assist you conclude for your own. In fact, our brilliant and mannerly staff is our noble assets, because these appreciative assets create a stretching variation.

If that was put together by a native english speaker he's clearly an illiterate, but my money would be on a translation from chinese or similar via google translate , and their 'registered trading address' is a residential house https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place...0x48761833905874c1:0xa0407036eae955d7!6m1!1e1

and their other address listed on their website is a shop selling electronic cigarettes https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/Ballards+Ln,+London+N3+1XP/@51.6032598,-0.1909588,3a,75y,270h,90t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1sgTIirEF2pIdEsFGr3bC-tA!2e0!6s//geo2.ggpht.com/cbk?panoid=gTIirEF2pIdEsFGr3bC-tA&output=thumbnail&cb_client=maps_sv.tactile.gps&thumb=2&w=203&h=100&yaw=121.10209&pitch=0!7i13312!8i6656!4m2!3m1!1s0x48761755cb609b95:0xfb421752527d1e65

I believe that this has been discussed many times before both here and on other photography forums. As far as I know no one has ever been able to successfully contact Panamoz by telephone. The phone number is just an answering service if you leave a message they will contact you back eventually. Having a U.K number and a U.K office address gives them more legitimacy in the eyes of potential clients. In reality though they have no U.K office or real phone number although they do have one U.K employee to handle U.K customer services for them. This is why when you look into the address it's a residential property. It's obviously designed to be slightly misleading but at the end of the day many people including myself have purchased equipment from them and received excellent service.

the above was about TRD electronics - I think panamoz's UK address turns out to be a serviced office facility

I said that they they appear to have 'stock' in the UK - their turnaround is pretty quick.

sure , you did - they on the other hand are claiming to be uk based

TRD UK Ltd is a UK based novelty firm
TRD UK Ltd is a UK based online trading company

which claims are somewhat undermined by the comedy english on their about page which appears to have been drafted by manuel from fawlty towers

More than the years, TRD’s innovative abilities of delivering have just enhanced the routine life for millions of people of European countries especially for UK residents

Tempted as i am to have my routine life enhanced by their innovative abilitities , their 'plethora facts' lead me to 'conclude my own' that there is significant doubt that they are in fact UK based

You may be right seen in a few other places that it was mentioned as being a residential flat, but that was a while ago.

yep I just checked 3rd Floor, Queensbury House, 106 Queens Road, Brighton, BN1 3XF , is a Regus Office facility ... if we are charitable they could be renting office space there, but it is more likerly that its a virtual office (where for a fee Regus provide the staff to answer phones, and forward mail) ... this explains why you can't pick anything up there.

Are you referring to TRD, or Panamoz, re picking up lenses from them & trying before paying?
TRD - as per the link. They have different prices on their website vs what's on Ebay so it's worth checking which is lower. They also have an 0207 (London) phone number and you can actually talk to a real person!
I've bought 2 Tamron lenses from them (24-70 and 15-30) with no problem. However, I've not needed to use their refund/repairs policy so I can't comment on that.

Cheers Amanda, but where did you go to try out & collect?

it was actually slightly weird as I had to collect from a shop in sort of NE London which didn't really have anything to do with them (seemingly) but took payment for the products and handed them to the punters.
Unusual but legit.
Picking-up meant that I didn't need to pay the £10 delivery charge and, I only paid once I'd had my grubby paws on the lens.

s.

Was it called LeVap and sold E cigs ? (I ask becauses thats whats at 55 ballard lane according to google street view)

Chances are good its actually the same business - an awful lot of E cigs and associated gubbins come in as grey imports from the far east...

on the other hand the Le Vap website doesnt have the same 'written by an infite number of monkeys' feeling , so it may be just an arrangement with rather than one company.

one point of note about this is that your credit card protection will be worthless in the event of a problem as the relationship is between the card provider and le vap not betwewn the provider and TRD

So what sort of warranty came with your lens ? or did you get a warranty ?

Unless she actually got a receipt from le vap for the lens, saying what it was for, personally I wouldn't have parted with cash to a shop unless I was getting a receipt from them.

Sorry I wasn't suggesting you never, I was just making the point in response to BSM that you would have been protected if you paid with a credit card, can I ask what type of warranty you got ?
