Are diesel cars an option for a low mileage use?

Apparently the shortage of chips has all but stopped car production so with few new cars available, 2nd hand ones are worth more. FWIW, the XF seems to be the only "prestige" model in the top 10.

People tell me that the Jag saloons these days have a harder ride than my S Type did. Is that true? I do like the look of the Jag saloons though. There's quite a few of them where I live.

Actually I think this has made the decision for me, I wont be buying a car until things are back to normal.

I'm not sure about the x260, but the x250 Sportbrake I had was planted, had precise steering yet somehow floated over our horrific roads. Proper Jaguar trickery in action me thinks!

Current car has sports suspension but isn't too bad. Its firm bit still absorbs the bumps, whereas my mates RX8, was firm and bloody firm lol

Surprisingly, I was driving a 2019 E Class last week and it was just as firm as my car. Steering was precise enough but the sun visor part of the roof comes down and I kept banging my head of it when leaning forward at junctions. Felt a little cramped inside as well.

Mine's the estate (Sportbrake) rather than the saloon and is on 20" wheels with low profile tyres so is a slightly firmer ride than my last one which was the saloon on 19" wheels and not-quite-so low profiles. TBH, it's not really that noticeable but if I had a choice, I'd go for less wheel, more rubber - it's for the road not the track! (but the skinny tyres do look quite good!)
