Arctic Tern sets new record

On the radio this morning, they were saying about several Terns that were fitted with trackers to follow their migration.
I can't remember the full details, but the winner apparently travelled 60,000 miles to and from its wintering place to return here to breed.
Each journey apparently takes 4 months..

I'll be congratulating them when I visit the Farnes later in the month ... they will probably be so excited that they will want to pat my head!
Amazing little birds and even the gulls don't mess with them.
