I'm now lucky enough to be the owner of a sparkly new Canon 200-800 RF lens and due to Canon's refusal to fit Arca Swiss style grooves on their tripod feet I am looking for a plate.

I have found several different designs, all have pros and cons, but I wondered if anyone on here has experience of any of them and would like to share

Thanks in advance

David

I can only say that Whimberly products are very good, of the items I have bought over some years. NB I am no longer a Canon user so cannot speak about this lens but when I did I used a plate on my 100-400mm EF mk2

They have both a recommended plate and replacement foot that is AS grooved.

Have fun with your new lens

I am keeping my eyes open for an Arca plate to fit the Gitzo system

Try an iShoot PHCA-IS-THRF280 ? It's an additional foot plate for the stock mount as far as I can see.

I've got several iShoot branded Arca replacement feet and collars - definitely no issues in construction or use here.

I have an Ishoot, bought from amazon, double screws so no chance of slipping and I've never had to retighten them either.

Chinese ones from e.bay all do the job . Tip … get one longer than you need to get the balance CofG correct
